Monetary incentives for building ENERGY STAR qualified homes are available through the ENERGY STAR New Homes Program.

HERS Raters
HERS Raters are a pivotal part of the program, as each new ENERGY STAR home must be independently verified by a qualified Home Energy Rater.

Quick Overview

• The Ameren Illinois Utilities will pay an incentive of $450 to the Builder for each Ameren Illinois Utilities gas heated new home OR $650 for each Ameren Illinois Utilities gas heated new home that also has Ameren Illinois Utilities electric and meets ENERGY STAR guidelines for energy efficiency.
• Incentives will also be paid to the Builder for efficient equipment and other measures.
• An independent verification by a qualified Home Energy Rater is required.

How to Participate
If you are a Home Builder or HERS Rater operating in the territory served by the Ameren Illinois Utilities, we invite you to become a registered Program Ally, which provides an additional opportunity to market your services and expand your customer base. To become a Program Ally, you must complete and return the appropriate ENERGY STAR Program Ally Agreement to the address on the form.
