The E-Smart™ Programmable Thermostat Program uses a paging system to remotely "cycle" your central air conditioner, turning it off for short intervals during times of high overall demand for electricity in the summer season. The free thermostat and installation have a retail value of $255, plus you could save an additional $100 a year in energy costs. (Please note that cycling events only apply to the air conditioning unit during the summer season and do not affect your furnace.)

Your state-of-the-art programmable thermostat conveniently lets you preset automatic temperature adjustments or change your thermostat settings from any Internet connection!

IMPORTANT NOTE: To participate in this program, you must be a non-residential customer of the Ameren Illinois Utilities (AmerenCIPS, AmerenCILCO or AmerenIP) on  Rider BGS-2 or BGS-3 (less than 400 kW demand) or Rider RTP-2 or RTP-3 (less than 400 kW demand) and your business must have central air-conditioning.
