In-Unit Efficiency
Improve the energy efficiency of each unit at no cost.
- Install compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) in permanent fixtures
- High performance shower heads
- Faucet aerators
Common Area Lighting Incentives
- Upgrade your T12 fluorescent fixtures to more efficient T8’s
- Install more efficient LED exit signs
- Install energy-saving CFLs or new hardwired fluorescent fixtures to replace incandescents
- Control usage and increase safety with photocell equipped outdoor lighting that turns on at dusk and off at dawn
- Decrease electricity bills with occupancy sensors in places that see intermittent use, like laundry rooms and entertainment areas

Major Measures: Insulation, Air Sealing and Heating Incentives
Air sealing and insulation are often the most effective improvements you can make to save energy and increase comfort. You may qualify for the following incentives:
Shell Measures
- Air / Duct Sealing--Up to $5,000 per building
- Attic Insulation--Up to $3,500 per building
- Wall Insulation--Up to $6,000 per building
Heating Upgrades
- Boilers--Up to $1,200 per building
- Furnaces--Up to $1,800 per building
- Programmable Thermostats ($25 rebate)
NOTE: Except for programmable thermostats, major measures incentives are only available for common areas of multifamily buildings and are not available for individual units.
