$50 or $75 Rebate On ENERGY STAR® Qualified Gas Water Heaters
Benefits of ENERGY STAR Qualified Gas Water Heaters
ENERGY STAR® qualified gas storage water heaters are an easy choice for energy savings, performance and reliability. Gas water heater efficiency is rated by Energy Factor (EF): the ratio of useful energy output from the water heater to the total amount of energy delivered to the water heater. The higher the EF is, the more efficient the water heater.
Ameren Illinois gas customers can receive a $50 rebate if they purchase an ENERGY STAR qualified gas water heater model that has an EF of .67 or a $75 rebate if they purchase a model that has an EF of .70
If you need a new gas storage water heater, ask for one that’s earned the ENERGY STAR and start enjoying these benefits:
- Save yourself some cash. Choose an ENERGY STAR qualified gas storage model instead of a standard model and save about $30 a year. Over the 13-year lifetime of the water heater that’s about $360. Larger families can save even more money.
- Make a good investment that protects the environment, too. The energy savings will recoup the modest price premium in about two and a half years.
- This investment also helps the planet. If everyone in the U.S. purchasing a standard gas water heater this year chose a qualified gas storage model instead, we would prevent one billion pounds of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere, the equivalent of creating 132,000 acres of forest.
