ENERGY STAR qualified room air purifiers are 40% more energy-efficient than standard models, saving consumers 340 kWh/year, or $39 annually on your utility bills. These savings could add up to $340 over the life of the air purifier!
A room air purifier, operating continuously, uses approximately 835 kWh per year in electricity. This is about 60% more than the power used by a new refrigerator!
Qualified models that offer secondary features such as clocks and remote controls consume less than 2 watts while in standby mode.
Did You Know?
The ENERGY STAR specification for room air purifiers measures energy efficiency by using a CADR/Watt ratio. Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) is a measure of the amount of contaminant-free air delivered by the room air purifier. Qualifying air purifier models must produce a minimum 50 CADR for dust. Please note, the U.S. EPA does not endorse any manufacturer claims of healthier indoor air from the use of this product.
